Paint St. Valentine, the Winged Heart, the Flaming Sacred Heart...or another saint or symbol of your choice! Retablos are traditionally painted to invoke the special powers of a particular saint or symbol, in the case of St. Valentine, he is the patron saint of lovers, engaged couples, and beekeepers!

Learn more about the symbolism of these sacred heart symbols and the history of Valentine's Day in this 3 hour Wednesday afternoon workshop. Instruction, Materials, and treats will be provided!

Instructor: Georgia Carbone - Georgia is the founder of GEORGI∆ ELECTR∆ Studio and ELECTR∆ Gallery. She holds an MFA from the California College of the Arts and has been an artist for over 25 years. She is adept with many different media and makes artwork for healing and spiritual growth. She learned to paint retablos from her neighbor, Theresa Vigil Montoya of Chimayo, who has been painting and selling traditional New Mexican retablos with her husband for over 40 years.
