"Cyanotype Printing" Workshop with James O'Connell of High Desert Alchemy ~ CLOSED

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS WORKSHOP - Thank you! :)
.
Discovered in 1842 by sir John Hershel the Cyanotype is renowned for its intoxicating Prussian blue color. For over 150 years cyanotypes have captivated artists for its deep coloring and simplicity. James O'Connell will lead us in a guided exploration of the process.
.
In this introductory class James will cover how to mix your own chemistry, coat your paper, judge exposure, and process your prints. This class will give you the knowledge to take the process home and continue experimenting. To keep the class simple we will be exploring the world of photograms. Photograms are photographs made by placing objects onto light-sensitive material and capturing the shadows. Students are encouraged to bring a range of materials to print with and make their exposures. When choosing your objects think about the shadows, and reflections each object makes. Come immerse yourself on December 2nd in the world of Prussian blue prints.
