Discover the energy and power of the Spiral through painting and drawing.

The spiral symbol can be found throughout the ancient world and has been a fascinating subject for contemporary artists as well. In this workshop we'll look at the ways the spiral is used in art, where it occurs in nature, and we'll make some spiral art of our own! We'll discuss the energy of the spiral and practice connecting with that energy through drawing and painting. Beautiful artworks may occur, but there is no art experience necessary for this potent workshop that will open up the energy of the spiral for use as a tool for all.

Georgia Carbone is a Santa Fe based artist who engages sacred and contemporary art techniques and practices. She has been practicing art as meditation for over a decade and teaching mindfulness art classes for the past 3 years. She received her Masters in Fine Art from the California College of the Arts in San Francisco. Her solo show "The Transcendental Gate", was recently on view in ELECTR∆ Gallery. She is a Reiki practitioner, certified at the Master level, and the owner of Georgia Electra sacred arts studio & Electra Gallery.

Materials you will need:
Watercolor paint
pen
pencil
Selection of watercolor brushes
Cold press watercolor paper
Eyedropper (optional)
Paper towel or cloth for blotting
2 water cups - one for cleaning brushes, one for fresh water
Watercolor palette for mixing colors
notepad for writing
